1. Who we are

Uncappify (Pty) Ltd (registration 2020/666263/07), South Africa ("Uncappify", "we", "us") provides uncapped internet and related services. This policy explains how we handle your personal information when you use our website (uncappify.co.za), the Uncappify app and the Uncappify Max app, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Our Information Officer can be reached at office@uncappify.co.za or on WhatsApp at 072 631 8796.

2. What we collect

  • Account details: your full name, email address and mobile number, and your install address when you order a service.
  • Service details: your account (UC) number, the services and plans you have, SIM numbers, router type, pricing and your chosen payment date.
  • Payment details: when you save a card, it is captured and stored by our payment provider, Paystack. We only keep a Paystack token for charging it, plus the card type, last four digits, expiry month and year, and bank. We never see or store your full card number or CVV.
  • Payment and billing history: invoices, collections, failed payments and any reward discounts applied.
  • Sign-in codes: one-time codes we send by email or WhatsApp to confirm it's you. Codes expire after 10 minutes.
  • Device information: if you allow notifications, a push notification token for your device and its platform (Android or iOS).
  • Rewards and referrals: the loyalty stars you earn and redeem, and, if you refer someone, the name and WhatsApp number you give us for them.
  • Cancellations and support: the reason you give for cancelling, courier waybill numbers for router returns, and messages you send to our support team.

We don't collect your location, contacts, photos or microphone audio, and the Uncappify Max app doesn't use advertising or analytics trackers.

3. How we use it

  • To set up, run and support your internet services, including activating and cancelling them with our network partners.
  • To bill you: preparing invoices, collecting payments from your saved card on your chosen date, and sending payment reminders and receipts.
  • To sign you in securely and protect your account.
  • To send you service messages in the app, by push notification, email or WhatsApp, such as invoices, reminders, speed and fair-use updates, and changes to your services.
  • To run our rewards programme and to contact people you refer, once, about our services.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to prevent fraud and misuse.

We never sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

4. Who we share it with

We share only what each provider needs to do its job for us:

  • Network partners (Telkom, MTN, Vodacom) to provide, manage and cancel your connection.
  • Paystack to save your card and process payments.
  • Meta (WhatsApp) to deliver sign-in codes and messages you've asked for.
  • Expo, Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and Apple (Push Notification service) to deliver app notifications.
  • Our hosting and email providers: Supabase (database), Render and Vercel (servers), and Imaginet (email).
  • Google Maps Platform, to suggest addresses as you type on our website.
  • Authorities, where the law requires us to.

5. Where your information is stored

Some of our providers store data outside South Africa (for example, our database is hosted in the European Union). Where that happens, we use providers bound by data protection laws or agreements that give your information a level of protection comparable to POPIA.

6. How long we keep it

  • Your account information is kept while you have an account with us.
  • Invoices and payment records are kept for at least five years, as South African tax law requires, even after your account is closed.
  • Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Push tokens are removed when you sign out, delete your account or they stop working.
  • When you delete your Uncappify Max account, your login, profile, saved cards, notifications, rewards and referrals are deleted.

7. How we protect it

All connections to our website, apps and servers are encrypted. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, card data is held by Paystack under PCI-DSS, and only staff who need your information to serve you can access it.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. To do so, contact office@uncappify.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity first.

You can delete your Uncappify Max account yourself in the app (Profile, then Delete account), or request it at uncappify.co.za/max/delete-account.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

9. Children

Our services are for people aged 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated. If we make important changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email.
